Our Views of the Massive Worldwide Opportunities for Horticulture
The horticulture industry—from breeding new varieties to attracting new consumers—has never been easy, but it’s always been exciting. And today, as we continue on our trek into the third decade of the 21st Century, the opportunities for success, profitability AND having an impact on the world have never been more attainable. There are many reasons, including our industry’s status as “essential” during the COVID pandemic; consumer interest in locally grown products; the coming generations’ demand for corporate social responsibility; and the ever-present pull of biophilia—“the innate human instinct to connect with nature and other living beings.” Anna and Susannah will share their views on how these factors and more and more are shaping our industry and providing massive opportunities for those who want to take on the challenge.
